Don’t take yourself to serious my darling boys.
Here is why… Everything in life is borrowed. You don’t own anything. Technically, not even your body.
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; Psalm 24:1
The message of our culture is often, “It’s all about you.” And it is so easy to buy into it. Social media, self empowerment and even things like ” believing in yourself” Thats just a way to keep us from God and make us believe that we do not need Him…Scary!
Are we not then worshiping ourselves instead of God?
Do you ever think about why God created Us? God wanted beings created in His image. A family for Himself. ( I can spend hours talking about this)
“Whom I created for my glory, yes, personally formed and made each one.’” Isaiah 43:7
Then all the bad things happend starting with the stupid serpent and freakin ADAM & EVE… and so this life on earth is only temporary. It is to prepare you for the-life of eternity.
So why then do we worry so much about this life and everything happening day to day?
Do others like me? What car do I drive? Am I beautiful enough? Will they like me?
Who cares???? Something I have learned over the years…. hehe actually I am not that old! Is that everyone wants to be liked and love. Everyone is the same, we all have insecurities and our own mountains… Why then worry about being better then the next person?
The funny thing is that we do all kinds of things to get the approval of people we don’t even like. True right?
The cars we drive, houses we live in, the jobs we have, the brands we buy, the things we say, the “friends we have, the events we go to.
“Why do people respect the package rather than the man?”
By nature, we want to believe that it is all about us. Truth is.. its not! Its about God!
I suggest you put more focus on God , get to know Him and the purpose of your life. Then you will find your true worth and happiness.
“Laugh when you can, apologise when you should, and let go of what you can’t change. Life’s too short to be anything… but happy. ” anonymous
If you take yourself too seriously, you will not experience “childlike faith.” And without it, you will never know God. He said,
“For sure, I tell you, unless you have a change of heart and become like a little child, you will not get into the holy nation of heaven. ” Matthew 18:3
Yes, there is a time and place when it’s important to take things seriously. These are times that involve compassion and empathy. However, most situations we find ourselves in are actually not worth fussing over. In fact, they are perfect opportunities for taking a lighthearted approach to living.
If you don’t like something, change it. If you can’t change it, change your attitude.Maya Angelou
Did you ever hear of a dying man saying: You know, I should have taken life more seriously. I should have laughed less and worried more.”
So, get up in the morning…be thankful, laugh, see the joy in everything and laugh at yourself and the things you cant change. Have Fun! Laughter is the best medicine!!!
Do not take this life too seriously. You will never get out of it alive. – Elbert Hubbard
